The Victor R. Small House along with the Sampson County History Museum present a Tale of Two Houses, a culturally enriched Christmas experience. The Victor R. Small House and the History Museum are both holding open houses free to the public that you won’t want to miss!! Take a trip back in time to remember the way Christmas was celebrated with staff and volunteers dressed in Early American garb ready to guide you through history. Home-made decorations will adorn each of the museums 8 buildings to give you a chance to experience how families celebrated Christmas long ago. Refreshments will be served in the Exhibit Hall, so don’t forget to grab a slice of hoop cheese and cookies, that may bring back a few of your own Christmas memories. Carolers will greet you at the door, and musicians from the Sampson Community Theater will perform the pre-show number from It’s a Wonderful Life!, as you’re ambling around the museum grounds. Don’t forget, the open house is Saturday, Dec. 6th, from 3 p.m. til 5 p.m. If you can’t make it, the museum will be decorated through Christmas, so come on by during normal operating hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
