Coming to Eastern North Carolina in July will be a multicultural event to celebrate CORN. This is the first Corn Festival to be held in North Carolina. It will be an opportunity for families of different cultures to enjoy each other's company. Hungry crowds will be able to choose authentic corn based cuisines from different countries. Each day, there will be entertainment from live bands, singers, along with Latino Dance groups. There will also be activities and games available for people of all ages. Some of the activities available include train rides, giant slides, farm animals, jumping pillow, mechanical bull and more. Big and small businesses will have a chance to become a sponsor of the event at different levels, in order to reach out to the growing Latino community. It is the vision of the festival organizers that this event will become one of the largest festivals in North Carolina as it offers knowledge and tells of the tradition behind the culture of corn. Attendees of the festival will be able to buy fresh sweet corn harvested with their own hands. This experience will help them to show their children the "farm to table" process.
